The Texas Probate Code was repealed effective January 1, 2014, and the Texas Estates Code was made effective beginning January 1, 2014. The Texas Legislature intended for the new Estates Code to be a non-substantive recodification. This means laws in the Estates Code should be the same as the laws in the corresponding Probate Code sections. In order to provide the most up-to-code legal advice, Marquardt Law Firm has invested time and resources to make sure that we understand the new Estates Code. The law firm has broadened our resource library to include new code books and research and drafting software to ensure we are up to date. The Wills and Trusts we draft for Texas residents are updated to correspond to the new Estates Code sections. We also ensure that the court pleadings for Probate and Guardianship correspond to the new Estates Code.
