Todd A. Marquardt
Owner and Managing Attorney
My passion is empowering business owners, retirees, adult caregiving children, and fiduciaries to understand complex laws and advocate for them when they are in trouble. I take the time to really listen to the questions, dreams, and fears of my clients. As part of my goal oriented process, I first seek to understand their goals and needs. Our relationship builds through a process; it is not a single transaction. My staff and I answer the phone, return calls, and reply to emails so that we can inform our clients about cutting edge legal strategies today and tomorrow.
Our legal solutions are ethical, legal, and above board. I make it my business to know the federal and state laws and regulations so that my clients can benefit from the same exceptions to the rules that members of congress enjoy.
In order to stay in-tune with the latest trends and developments in Estate Planning, I have become an active member of WealthCounsel, a national community of top estate planning professionals committed to the highest standard of practice excellence. This collaborative organization, along with attending seminars taught by nationally recognized leaders in the field, keeps me on the leading edge of the newest estate planning ideas and approaches.
I believe thousandairs as well as millionaires can take advantage of tax-efficiently protecting and preserving assets, reducing family conflict, and maximizing government benefits. People from all socio-economic backgrounds need legal representation to navigate our bureaucracy and tax code.
I received my undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico and my JD from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, and I have been licensed to practice law in Texas since 2006 and New Mexico since 2009.While finishing up my last semester in law school, I wrote an article entitled, Reliance on Inadequate Government Programs and the Struggle for Long-Term Care, which was published in the National Academy of Elder Law Attorney’s Student Journal in May 2006. Since then, I have been selected to the 2013 and 2014 Texas Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
